Why We Exist

The Visionary Drive Behind De La Calexo Africa

Pioneered by emerging environmentalist Caleb Burudi, De La Calexo Africa is a story of patriotism and nationalism. Born in Shikulu village, Kakamega County, Caleb developed an interest in planting trees at a tender age. In 2018, he began establishing nurseries and donating seedlings, a humanitarian call that has since snowballed across Kenya.

Inspired by the presidential directive to achieve a 10% forest cover, our initiatives reinforce government efforts to preserve and restock our environment. Driven by this vision, Caleb Burudi was recognized as a National Hero for climate change and conservation in 2025.

To date, we have successfully grown more than 3 million trees across the country through strategic partnerships with government entities, corporate partners, and local communities.

Our footprint spans learning institutions like Masinde Muliro and Kaimos Universities, the Office of the First Lady through the Mama Doing Good initiative, and the National Police Service—including Vigilance House and divisions across Nairobi, Kakamega, Vihiga, Kajiado, Bungoma, Nakuru, and Changamwe.
